Why does the MGF capture the heart? The MGF is a great little car. It has had a number of teething problems associated with poor build quality and there have been a few examples of cars where a great deal has gone wrong. The F is also completely impractical. But, once you've driven it, REALLY driven it, you won't want to let it go. A 10-minute drive home from work can turn into a 3-hour blast around the countryside. Get a bit of sun (well, just wait for it to stop raining really), get the roof down, the wind in your hair, and life seems a million times better. Even in the middle of the snow in Switzerland, it's great with the top down. Just turn the heater on full, put a ski jacket on and you won't be cold. The MGF has life. It has character. If you had a Porsche, a Z3 or an SLK, it just wouldn't be the same. As an MG driver, you get other owners waving and flashing their lights at you as you pass. It doesn't matter if you're driving around the city, or on the open road with the roof down, you can be sure that someone somewhere will be doing the same in another MG. When you buy an MG, you buy into a completely unique club that gives you a sense of belonging wherever you drive. And the way the MGF handles ... ... not many other cars come close. The F may not be the fastest car on the road, but it is one of the most fun. It's mid engine design helps provide that "supercar" feeling as you burn up some twisty winding country road, with the wind in your hair. This site is dedicated to a great little car, and the people that I have met that typify the spirit that is the MGF. ![]() Copyright notice: All images, graphics, pictures and content are the copyright of Stefan Gibney.
